How many new Pokémon are there in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

Are you ready to really catch 'em all?

The Pokémon games have been around for so long that we have finally reached the 1,000 mark in available Pokémon across all generations. In the ninth generation of the series, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, a total of 107 new Pokémon were added for fans to discover and enjoy. In addition to the previous 905 that were available as a part of the National Pokédex, that equals 1,013 total Pokémon. But, is that really the total number of Pokémon in existence after Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

What is the total number of Pokémon in existence after Pokémon Scarlet & Violet (Gen 9)?

While it would be accurate that there are now 1,013 total Pokémon, it is no secret that more Pokémon tend to release post-launch. This is normally in the form of Mystery Gifts, special DLC, or other events that would constitute a new Pokémon release. In fact, we saw this happen during the release of the Pokémon Sword and Shield DLC, The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra. The DLCs each added new Pokémon to both games which increased the total number of Pokémon in existence at the time.

Considering that, it is very possible that the number of total Pokémon can increase as time progresses. But, it's safe to say that there are roughly over 1,013 total Pokémon in existence after the release of the ninth generation, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.
