How to use two controllers to run faster in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Faster, faster!

During the first few minutes of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, you may be frustrated that you can only walk at an abysmally slow pace. That quickly changes before you head down Poco Path, but some players were still frustrated by the rate at which they could traverse Paldea. Reddit users eventually discovered a method to run even faster, exploiting what appears to be a bug in the game. Here's how to run faster using two controllers in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.

You're in luck if you have extra controllers for your Nintendo Switch system. Fire up Pokémon Scarlet or Violet as you usually would, then turn on your extra controller. It will attempt to register then stop, and you won't see any indicator lights on, but try pressing the left joysticks of both controllers together at an angle, and you'll notice a significant increase in speed.

This is likely an unintentional glitch, as a commentator on the original Reddit post explains. The game may be accidentally adding the input of both joysticks together. This 'cheat' seems to be limited to diagonal running, as the increased speed is not noted while player input is directly on an axis (pushing the joystick directly forward or backward.) If you try this, your results may also vary depending on your brand of controllers.
